Job Title: Quality Assurance Lead (SAP S/4HANA)

Location: Montreal, QC, Canada

Work Model: Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite

Duration: 12 months (possibility of extension)

Programme: SAP S/4HANA and BTP Migration

About the Role

Client is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Lead (SAP S/4HANA) to support a major digital transformation involving the migration of its ERP landscape to SAP S/4HANA.

The successful candidate will provide independent oversight of test governance, quality controls, and readiness assurance across System Integration Testing (SIT), UAT-aligned quality gates, SIT2, cutover readiness, and hypercare.

This role is responsible for validating testing evidence, identifying quality gaps, challenging readiness claims, and providing clear recommendations to support formal quality gate decisions and successful go-live.

The ideal candidate will have strong SAP S/4HANA testing governance experience and the ability to work collaboratively with delivery teams, System Integrators, and third parties while maintaining an independent quality assurance perspective.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain and apply the regional testing governance framework, readiness standards, and quality controls in alignment with programme expectations.
- Govern regional test phase readiness and validate supporting evidence for SIT, UAT-aligned assurance activities, SIT2, cutover rehearsals, and hypercare gates.
- Provide independent oversight of regional test execution health, identifying and escalating risks, issues, quality gaps, and control weaknesses.
- Ensure testing teams consolidate, validate, and retain test artefacts and readiness evidence required for quality gate approvals.
- Oversee regional defect management practices, including logging discipline, traceability, reporting quality, defect ageing, prioritisation, and escalation.
- Review and assess System Integrator testing and defect reports, highlighting trends, risks, and evidence gaps for leadership decision-making.
- Govern regional use of test management tools,



including qTest evidence, access provisioning dependencies, and compliance issues affecting testing governance.
- Collaborate with testing leaders, Global Process Owners (GPOs), delivery teams, System Integrators, and third-party coordinators while maintaining independent oversight.
- Prepare transparent governance and readiness reports reflecting the actual regional position.
- Provide formal quality gate recommendations, including Pass, Conditional Pass, or Blocker, based on validated evidence and identified risks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA test governance frameworks, QA standards, quality controls, and formal quality gate management.
- Experience supporting or coordinating test governance in complex delivery environments involving multiple teams, phases, or workstreams.
- Experience providing independent quality oversight across testing teams and constructively challenging delivery readiness assessments.
- Strong understanding of defect management, testing metrics, traceability, and evidence standards.
- Experience with test management tools; qTest experience is highly regarded.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent documentation, reporting, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to identify quality risks, assess evidence gaps, and communicate findings clearly to leadership.
- Collaborative approach that supports quality, compliance, and psychological safety while escalating material risks.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting large-scale SAP S/4HANA and BTP migration programmes.
- Experience with regional testing governance,



cutover readiness, and hypercare assurance.
- Experience reviewing System Integrator testing reports and coordinating quality gate readiness across third-party delivery teams.

- Regional QA Gate Readiness Pack: Evidence status, gaps, risks, decisions required, and recommendations.
- Testing Governance Controls Checklist: Artefacts, evidence, defects, reporting, tool usage, and access dependencies.
- Independent Readiness and Quality Findings Register: Findings with assigned owners, actions, due dates, severity, and closure evidence.
- Defect Governance Assessment: Defect logging quality, traceability, ageing, trend analysis, and escalation effectiveness.
- System Integrator Report Review Summary: Trends, risks, control gaps, and areas requiring leadership attention.
- qTest and Test Evidence Compliance Summary: Evidence compliance and supporting information for regional quality gate decisions.

Project Context

- Programme: SAP S/4HANA and BTP migration.
- Primary Phase: Phase 1 mobilisation through SIT, UAT-aligned quality gates, SIT2, cutover readiness, and hypercare stabilisation.
- Primary Focus: Test governance, QA controls, and readiness assurance.
- Key Stakeholders: Tech Platform Lead, Test Governance, QA/Defect Governance, Accenture, PMO, GPOs, testing leaders, delivery teams, third-party coordinators, SMEs, and platform specialists.

Success Criteria

- Regional readiness decisions are based on validated evidence rather than verbal assurance or optimistic reporting.
- Quality gaps, governance risks, and defect trends are identified and communicated early enough for corrective action.
- Quality gate documentation is clear, traceable, and supports leadership decision-making.
- Defect governance and test evidence standards are applied consistently across regional teams and third-party cohorts.
- Independent quality assurance is maintained without taking ownership of test planning, execution, or vendor management.
