Boxing 4 Health

Ottawa

Senior Instructor, Team & Growth Lead (Contract)

Boxing 4 Health | Ottawa (East End home base) | $35–$39 per class, growing with you

We’re turning 10, and we’re not slowing down. More members, more classes, and more people living with Parkinson’s who deserve a place to fight back.

To get there, we need a leader on the floor. Someone who can coach a great class, rally a team, and turn “I’m interested” into “See you Tuesday.”

To be considered, you must have:

- 3+ years teaching group fitness classes
- A recognized fitness certification (e.g. canfitpro, CSEP, or equivalent)
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring a team, in fitness or elsewhere
- A vulnerable sector check (or able to get one)
- Real heart for seniors and people living with Parkinson’s. This one is non-negotiable.

About Us: For 10 years, Boxing 4 Health has helped seniors and people living with Parkinson’s get stronger, steadier, and more confident. Our neuro-informed programming was built in-house by our founder and head of physiotherapy, shaped by years of input from our instructors on the floor. It blends non-contact boxing, functional strength, cognitive games, voice work, and fine motor training, and we collaborate with the University of Ottawa on research studies.

We run classes at three Ottawa locations (East End, West End, and our HQ off Maitland) and in retirement homes, and we train instructors across Canada through our certification program.

The Opportunity:

A hands-on leadership role at our East End location with three parts: teaching standout classes, rallying our instructor team, and helping more people say yes to Boxing 4 Health. It’s a few days a week to start, with room to grow as we do.

What You’ll Do: Teach high-energy, adaptable classes for seniors and people living with Parkinson’s and set the standard for a Boxing 4 Health class. Keep instructors connected, motivated, and challenged; lead huddles and mentor new instructors. Follow up with warm leads (trial bookings, referrals, outreach), welcome current and trial members, help run community demos and events with retirement homes and Parkinson’s groups, and bring marketing ideas.

Sales here isn’t pushy — it’s helping someone who’s already curious find the courage to start.

Bonus points: sales or client-relations experience in fitness/health; experience with older adults or Parkinson’s; boxing/martial arts background; comfortable with Google Workspace, social media, Canva; French.

Why You’ll Love It Here: A real leadership seat at a growing, mission-driven business. Pay that grows with you: $35 per class during training, $37 once fully trained, $39 after your first year. Orientation in the Boxing 4 Health method, our Parkinson’s-specific approach. A role designed to grow as we expand.

How to Apply: Apply on LinkedIn and answer the screening questions. Shortlisted candidates will be asked for a 90-second video telling us about a time they got a team to hit a goal.
