Project Context The Mechanical Design Engineer will support large-scale projects in the oil sands market, focusing on pressure equipment, piping systems, and skid packages. Success in these projects may lead to additional future opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Perform piping and skid package design for oil & gas applications.

Develop and update 3D models in SolidWorks.

Prepare and maintain engineering drawings.

Conduct design reviews and collaborate with Engineers and Design Supervisors.

Support active projects with minimal onboarding, ensuring efficient delivery.

Candidate Requirements

10+ years of design experience (or equivalent highly relevant experience).

Solid expertise in piping design and skid package design.

Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks.

Ability to work independently and deliver results with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

Experience in water treatment, process equipment, or oil & gas projects.





Familiarity with pressure equipment.

Experience with Epicor ERP.

Prior collaboration with P.Eng engineers.

Epicor ERP (nice to have).

Exposure to ASME and B31.3 standards.

Soft Skills

Team player with a collaborative mindset.

Strong communication skills and proactive attitude.

Open to knowledge sharing with senior team members.

In accordance with our compensation practices, ALTEN is providing the salary range associated with this opportunity. Final compensation will be determined after considering several factors, including professional experience, skill set, educational background, certifications, and geographic market conditions. The current target salary range for this role is $90,000 – $120,000 per year.
