Role Description The Transit Operator is a full time, on-site role located in Ituna, SK is, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of transit bus. Day-to-day tasks include driving on call routes, following schedules, and adhering to all traffic laws and organizational safety standards. The role involves assisting passengers with boarding and exiting, providing courteous customer service, and communicating updates.

The Transit

Operator will complete basic vehicle inspections, report maintenance or safety concerns, and maintain accurate trip logs and related documentation.

Qualifications





- Strong transit operations skills, including experience driving buses or similar vehicles and navigating fixed or demand-responsive routes.
- Proficiency in defensive driving and adherence to safety protocols, with a clean driving record and knowledge of traffic regulations.
- a Class 4 drivers license.
- Effective communication and customer service skills to interact respectfully with diverse passengers and colleagues.
- Experience with or willingness to participate in training related to transit operations, safety, and emergency procedures.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for transit vehicles (e.g., commercial or bus license) and eligibility to meet local regulatory requirements.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, handle occasional lifting or assistance of passengers, and work varying shifts as needed.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently while following established policies and procedures.
- Previous experience in public transit, transportation, or a related field is an asset.
