Salary: $30.00 to 40.00 hourly (To be negotiated) /
Terms of employment: Permanent employment / Full time / 30.00 to 40.00 hours per week / Shift
Start date: as soon as possible
Vacancy: 1 Vacancy
Benefit: 4% Vacation Pay

Job Requirements

- Languages: English
- Education: Cook’s trade certification OR equivalent credentials, training and/or experience
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of commercial cooking experience

Work setting: Restaurant

Responsibilities / Tasks

1. Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items
2. Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
3. Demonstrate current cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
4. Create new recipes
5.



Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
6. Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
7. Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
8. Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
9. Requisition food and kitchen supplies
10. Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
11. Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
12. Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food

Support for youths
Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth
Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth
