Warehouse Associate

Handle, move load and unload materials by material handling equipment including hand carts, forklifts. Ensure that trailers are clean and washed including reefer and condenser units. Assist in general yard and warehouse maintenance. Conducts all tasks according to established Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse:

· Load, unload and move products and materials from transport trailers

· Perform other material handling activities such as counting, sorting, packing and unpacking.

· Receive, sort and prepare for shipment materials as required by our customers ensuring that all proper documentation for in and out shipments are recorded, prepared and available

· Inspect warehouse for defects and advise appropriate individuals

· Keep warehouse clean and organized

· Stack materials on racking, pallets, etc.

· Wash trailers/reefers and condenser units as required

· Other duties as assigned

Yard:

· Perform yard checks on a regular basis

· Check the interior and exterior of trailers for cleanliness, damages and/or defects and report as required

· Check reefers for fuel and to ensure they are operating correctly. Report defects as required

· General yard duties

· Other duties as required

Requirements:

Essential:





· Secondary school education

· Ability to work in a team or individually, as required

· Forklift license a definite asset

Mental Effort:

· Mental effort required in multi-tasking and handling interruptions that require constant refocusing.

· Listening and mental attentiveness.

· Observing the workplace to ensure safety

Physical Effort:

· Generally medium exertion. Variety of sitting, standing and walking.

· Some bending and lifting required with a variety of weights

· May require sitting for extended period of time

· Exertion required when using power washer for extended period of time

Working conditions:

· Warehouse setting with frequent interaction with co-workers

· Extreme temperature extremes when working in the yard

· Wet conditions (PPE provided includes rain suit, rubber gloves, rubber boots, eye and ear protection, breathing apparatus)

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
