The Talent Acquisition Specialist manages full-cycle recruitment for skilled trades, field technicians, and qualified roles in every province where BFG operates. This role oversees the recruitment process from initial planning through to the current hire's first day, ensuring an efficient and positive hiring experience. Working closely with hiring managers and the HR Generalist, the Talent Acquisition Specialist supports staffing needs, develops recruitment strategies, builds talent pipelines, and contributes to improving recruitment processes while ensuring compliance with applicable employment legislation.

Responsibilities
Manage open positions from intake through to accepted offer
Lead intake meetings with hiring managers, gathering all requirements, interview processes and timelines
Provide hiring managers with weekly updates
Write and post job descriptions, ensuring that postings meet provincial employment legislation
Source candidates directly through various channels including referrals, past applicants, trade associations, job fairs and direct outreach
Build and maintain pipelines for recurring roles
Manage job boards and agency relationships
Screen candidates, conduct first-round interviews, coordinate hiring manager interviews
Complete reference checks and background checks,



escalating to management if needed
Extend verbal offers, prepare offer letters for approvals and answer candidate questions, maintaining communication throughout the process
Ensure recent hire files are complete, arrange IT access and ship welcome packages to new hires before their start date
Ensure the ATS and HRIS are current and data entry is accurate
Prepare regular recruitment reports including open roles, days open, bottlenecks, etc.
Ensure all candidates have a positive experience including checking in with current hires after set timelines
Provide recommendations to improve the hiring process including interview guides, coaching hiring managers and ATS set up

Qualifications
3+ years of experience of full-cycle recruiting either in-house or agency including direct candidate sourcing
Experience with high volume recruitment
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Experience recruiting skilled trades, field technicians and other technical roles
Hands on experience with an ATS system
Working knowledge of employment standards and human rights regulations in the recruitment lifecycle
Robust attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
