Youth Worker The Boys & Girls Club of Charlotte County is very excited to be recruiting for a Youth Worker to help plan, coordinate and implement Youth Centre programs.

This individual will be responsible for all components of the program and responsibilities will include:

· Become familiar with the strengths, interests and capacities, as well as the barriers and challenges identifying specific educational, social and emotional challenges as experienced by participants;

· Establish and maintain positive and supportive relationships with enrolled students, parents/guardians and secondary school staff to ensure the students fully participate in the program by, among other means, maintaining regular contact with students, parents/guardians and school staff;

· Encourage and promote attendance of students in Education Program activities, including homework help, post-secondary goal planning and other community – based or post-secondary opportunities;

· Provide written and oral data reports to the Program Director on all aspects of the work; in particular, regular reporting of attendance,



documenting all issues, challenges, accomplishments including any incidents and referrals and other follow-up involving Education Program participants that affect their social, emotional or academic success;

· Refer individual students and their parents/guardians to other agencies or providers who might best be able to provide supports or services that meet their needs and document all such activities, monitor the effectiveness of such supports and ensure systematic follow-up with participants and providers;

· Participate in regular team club meetings, as required.

Requirements:

· Proven ability to work with a team workplace and support the values of the Boys & Girls Club;

· Proven ability to connect with and engage youth ages 13 and up;

· A willingness to work versatile schedule in order to meet programming expectations (will include evenings and Saturdays)

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $15.90 per hour
