St. Joseph Catholic School is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Middle School Science Teacher to join our middle school team for approximately four to six weeks beginning at the end of October. The long-term substitute will provide science instruction to middle school students while maintaining continuity of learning, established classroom routines, and a positive and supportive classroom environment. The substitute will work closely with our middle school team and school administration throughout the assignment.

Primary Responsibilities

- Deliver middle school science instruction using established curriculum, lesson plans, and learning objectives
- Prepare for and facilitate engaging, age appropriate science lessons and learning activities
- Maintain established classroom expectations, routines, and procedures
- Assess student learning and provide appropriate feedbackCommunicate with students, families, colleagues, and administration as needed
- Collaborate with the middle school teaching team to support student learning and schoolwide expectations
- Supervise students and fulfill other typical teacher responsibilities during the school day
- Support the Catholic mission, values, and community of St. Joseph Catholic School





Qualifications

- Valid teaching certificate required
- Experience teaching middle school students preferred
- Science teaching experience or background strongly preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
- Commitment to providing a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment
- Willingness to support the mission and values of Catholic education

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation: Starting at $180 per day starting. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.

Benefits: This is a temporary substitute teaching position and is not eligible for the comprehensive benefits package provided to regular full time employees. Benefits and paid leave, if applicable, are provided in accordance with school and Archdiocesan policies and applicable law.
