Aequitas Veritas Qualified Corporation is a Calgary-based CPA firm serving small business owners, sole proprietors, and corporations across a range of industries. We provide compilation engagements, bookkeeping, corporate and personal tax, GST, advisory, and controller services. We run a cloud-based practice built for remote work.

We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our team in a fully virtual role with a 4-day work week.

What you will do
Work directly with clients
Prepare year-end financial statements and compilation engagement files
Assist in preparing monthly management reports
Prepare and file GST returns
Prepare personal income tax returns
Assist with the month-end closing process for client files

What we are looking for
Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field
Strong working knowledge of Canadian accounting principles
Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills




Robust attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple client deadlines
Self-motivated and organized, with the discipline to work independently in a remote environment

Bonus qualifications
Currently pursuing the CPA designation or preparing to write the CFE
Prior Canadian tax knowledge (personal and/or corporate)
Experience preparing compilation engagements
Experience with Xero, Hubdoc, Xero Working Papers, or TaxCycle

Demonstrated ability to use AI tools responsibly in an accounting workflow, including verifying outputs and protecting client confidentiality
