Our client is advancing a high-potential gold project in one of Canada’s most prolific districts. With the project moving through advanced exploration and underground development, there’s a transparent path toward a significant, long-life operation.
We’re looking for a Sr. Mine Engineer who thrives in technically critical, hands-on roles. This isn’t a desk job. It’s a site-based position for someone who’s at home underground, working alongside crews and contractors to turn plans into progress.
What You’ll Do:
Own the short-, medium-, and long-range mine plans that drive protected, efficient development.
Deliver engineering designs that are ready for the field—not just theoretical.
Spend time underground validating designs, solving problems in real time, and supporting active development.
Manage 18-month rolling plans and tight 3–6-month development schedules.
Sign off on underground designs, including ramps, stopes, ventilation, and infrastructure.
Track performance and turn site data into practical adjustments.
Model alternative mining scenarios to improve safety, sequencing, and productivity.
Partner with geology and rock mechanics to integrate ore and ground control into mine plans.
Provide the site-level engineering insight that feeds life-of-mine strategy and capital decisions.
Mentor junior engineers and planners as the site team grows.
What You’ll Bring:
A Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering and a P.Eng. (or eligibility) in Ontario.
5–7+ years of experience in underground mine engineering.
A practical, "boots-on-the-ground" understanding of drill-and-blast and long-hole stoping.
Proven experience with ventilation, dewatering, and ground support infrastructure.
Expert-level skill with planning software like Deswik, MineSight, or Mine 24D.
A reputation as a resource that crews, contractors, and leadership can rely on.
The drive to work on rotation or relocate to the Red Lake area.
What’s in It for You:
A chance to take real ownership of underground development at a pivotal project stage.
Direct involvement in future production planning and major capital decisions.
A collaborative, safety-first environment where your engineering actually makes an impact.
Competitive compensation, solid benefits, and a clear path for skilled growth.
