At Sandgate Women’s Shelter of York Region Inc., your work will emphasize supporting women affected by violence primarily through mobile and community-based initiatives. You'll develop individualized goal plans, perform safety planning, and provide trauma-informed counseling. This position requires availability during evenings and weekends, fostering a responsive service environment for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver mobile, non-residential crisis support to women and children
• Create individualized goal plans for clients affected by violence
• Provide safety planning and crisis intervention
• Facilitate support groups and community education events
• Conduct intake assessments for women accessing services
Requirements:
• Degree/diploma in social work or related field
• Experience in gender-based violence services
• Knowledge of relevant legislation
• Strong communication and conflict management skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
