Care for young patients in the Pediatric ICU at Hamilton Health Sciences. Provide emotional support and education to children and their families, enhancing their hospital experience.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Child Life Studies and ideally Child Life Certification. As a Child Life Specialist, you'll use your expertise to perform assessments and provide interventions tailored to children and adolescents' needs. Flexibility and robust interpersonal skills are essential for success in this temporary position until April 2028.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct observations and assessments of pediatric patients
• Prepare children and families for medical procedures
• Implement therapeutic activities to support emotional well-being




• Collaborate with health care team members on patient care
• Educate the health care team about psychosocial needs of young patients

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree and diploma in Child Life Studies
• 1-2 years of experience in acute care settings
• Child Life Certification preferred within 1-2 years
• Demonstrated clinical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and engage with multidisciplinary teams
