As a Senior Gas Turbine Overhaul Technician, you'll play a key role in shaping workshop standards, developing technical capability and influencing how our overhaul operations evolve as the business grows.
Working alongside experienced turbine specialists in Canada, New Zealand and Australia, you’ll provide technical leadership on the workshop floor while remaining actively involved in the hands‑on overhaul, inspection, assembly and testing of GE LM2500 gas turbine engines and modules.
This is a role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, maintaining exceptionally high standards and helping less experienced technicians develop their skills. Your expertise, judgement and leadership will help set the standard for quality, safety and technical excellence as we build a world‑class capability supporting global customers.
About Maddex Turbine Services
Maddex Turbine Services is part of Rotation Group, providing gas turbine overhaul, repair and field services across New Zealand, Australia and Canada.
The best time to join a company is just before everyone else realises they should have. The AI boom has turned electricity into the defining constraint of the digital economy, and the aeroderivative gas turbine — led by GE’s LM2500 — has become the engine of choice for fast, reliable power. Demand is running years ahead of what the industry can build, and every engine in service needs a specialist to keep it running.
We’ve spent years building for exactly this moment: three specialised sites, a purpose‑built overhaul depot, a technical centre of excellence, and a team drawn from the world’s leading OEMs and operators. Now we’re scaling — and growing our team to match the opportunity ahead. The seats we’re filling now will define the company for the next decade.
At Rotation, we take responsibility, aim for excellence, and win as a team. We value people who bring initiative, accountability,
and pride to their work.
What you’ll do
Lead the disassembly, inspection, repair assessment and reassembly of GE LM2500 gas turbine engines and modules
Perform detailed condition assessments and diagnose technical issues during overhaul and testing
Provide technical leadership, mentoring and day to day support to technicians and apprentices
Act as first point of escalation for more complex workshop technical issues
Support planning and delivery of overhaul projects
Promote high standards of workmanship, accountability and continuous improvement
Support the implementation of new repair processes, technologies and lessons learned
What we’re looking for
Robust mechanical aptitude and a passion for hands‑on technical work
Experience in mechanical assembly, overhaul, maintenance or repair environments
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to follow technical procedures, solve problems and work safely in a regulated environment
Reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a small, committed team
Positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to continuous improvement
Experience & Qualifications
You are an experienced LM2500 technician who takes pride in precision workmanship and technical excellence. You enjoy solving complex mechanical problems, mentoring others and setting high standards for quality and safety.
Whether you’re inspecting components, troubleshooting an engine issue or helping develop a less experienced technician, you take ownership,
work methodically and focus on getting the job done right the first time.
You’ll need:
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic capability
Ability to interpret and apply technical manuals and procedures
Experience leading technical activities and supporting other technicians
LM2500 module or engine testing experience
NDT qualifications, borescope inspection or vibration analysis experience
Experience with other aeroderivative gas turbine platforms
