S2627-80 Educational Assistant - Aurora Middle School & J.A. Williams High School

We are seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Educational Assistant to begin as soon as possible. This assignment is split between Aurora Middle School and J.A. Williams High school, it involves assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs. These positions require a compassionate and energetic individuals to work in a team environment.

With both schools located in the Town of Lac La Biche - J.A. Williams High School has approximately 440 students in grades 9-12, and our mission is to engage the entire school community in learning through focus, reflection, and collaboration.



Aurora Middle School has approximately 390 students in grades 4 to 8, and our school prides itself on being a caring, respectful, and safe school.

Preference will be given to applicants who have :

• Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant


• Knowledge and experience with behavioural strategies


• Experience working one-on-one and/or in a group setting


• Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers


• Knowledge and experience in alternate communications strategies


• Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs


• Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans

Training and skills that would be an asset include:

• Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing and/or rehabilitation


• SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
