Your Role As a Software Engineering Intern, you will join a software development team supporting the certification of software used in aerospace and defense applications. You will gain hands‑on experience working with production software while learning the rigorous development and certification practices required by the DO-178C standard. You will contribute to smaller development and certification activities, working alongside experienced engineers on requirements, design, code updates, reviews, and bug fixes.
Your Responsibilities Support software development and certification activities in accordance with DO-178C processes.
Contribute to requirements, software design, code updates, and technical reviews.
Work on smaller pull requests and bug fixes with guidance from experienced team members.
Help maintain traceability between requirements, design, and source code as part of the certification process.
Participate in independent reviews of engineering work and documentation.
Collaborate with team members throughout the software development and certification lifecycle.
Learn and apply structured development practices required for safety‑critical software.
Demonstrate curiosity, willingness to learn, and active engagement with the engineering team.
Your Background Currently pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Academic, project, or professional experience with C or C++.
Previous internship or relevant practical experience is preferred.
Interest in software development, software quality, and structured engineering processes.
Ability and willingness to learn technical concepts and work within a rigorous development environment.




Availability to work on‑site in the Ottawa area three days per week.
