Company Description Newland Steel Corporation is a Calgary based distributor of steel products specializing in steel tubulars.

Role Description The Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB, responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding Newland Steel Corporation’s customer base. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with key clients, and managing a structured sales pipeline. The role involves preparing proposals and presentations, negotiating contracts and pricing, and collaborating with operations and production teams to ensure feasible and customer-focused solutions.

The Business Development

Manager will analyze market trends, track competitors, and provide input into sales strategies, while regularly reporting on performance, forecasts, and prospects to senior leadership. This role also requires attending industry events, networking with stakeholders, and representing the company in a professional manner.

Qualifications
Bachelor level degree in a technical or related field




2+ years experience in the Oil and Gas industry
Experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within steel, construction, manufacturing, or related industrial sectors
Solid skills in relationship management, client communication, and negotiation, with the ability to build trust and long-term partnerships.
Good product knowledge of: Wellhead, Christmas tree, drill pipes, OCTG, completion tools, drilling fluids, sucker rods, valves, fittings, and steel products
Independent, results-oriented, and willing to travel when required.
Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office tools, Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
Demonstrate a proactive and outcome-driven attitude
Critical thinker with problem solving abilities
