Overview: I CAN Child Development Center in Coquitlam, BC, is looking for a dedicated Child Development Assistant to join our growing team. In this rewarding role, you will work directly with pediatric clients to support communication, language acquisition, and developmental milestones in an inclusive, supportive workplace. You will collaborate closely with early childhood specialists and multidisciplinary clinical supervisors.

Responsibilities

Support young children (pediatric population) with individualized speech, language, and communication activities.

Implement structured development plans and communication targets designed by clinical leads and therapists.

Track client engagement, collect session progress data, and report outcomes to the lead team.

Prepare play-based therapy materials, visual aids, and interactive learning tools.

Maintain a safe, encouraging, and engaging setting during one-on-one and small group sessions.





Communicate regularly with parents and multidisciplinary staff regarding child progress.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in child studies, linguistics, psychology, early childhood education, speech-language assistant (SLPA) program, or a related field.

Experience working with young children with diverse learning needs or developmental delays (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder).

Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.

Clear Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector.

Job Type: Part-time / Contract Location: Coquitlam, BC

Pay: $25.00-$32.93 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 32.0 per week
