Number of Vacancies: 2

Union Affiliation: CUPE 4705 Outside Unit

Hours of Work: 80 hours bi-weekly

Shift Work Required: Yes - shift work may be required

Rate of Pay: $31.20 per hour

The start date will follow the selection process.

Main Function: Operate municipal tractor with attachments or other similar type equipment.

Characteristic: Under the supervision of a Foreperson.

Duties

Operate municipal tractor with attachments during winter months.

Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS's Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.

Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications
Education and Training

Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) Education.

Experience

Proven ability to operator a municipal tractor with attachments.

Must have some mechanical knowledge to avoid damage to the equipment.

Other Requirements





Ability to read and follow manufacturer’s routine maintenance instructions.

Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.

Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.

May require the use of a CGS vehicle on CGS business. Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver's licence and have an acceptable driving record.

This job is also being posted as a development prospect. Should there be no fully qualified candidate for this position, a candidate who can be expected to meet the required qualifications within a reasonable period of time may be considered for this position as a development opportunity.

Development opportunity rate of pay: $29.64 per hour. The successful candidate will be paid at the reduced rate until the minimum qualifications have been met.
