Role Responsibilities Alberta Justice, Legal Services Division has permanent and temporary, full time opportunities for lawyers to join the Infrastructure and Transportation and Economic Corridors (ITEC) Legal Team as a Barrister & Solicitor.

In this position you will work in a collaborative team environment to provide advice on a variety of client projects for delivery by the Province.

You will identify and research relevant legal issues; ascertain all relevant facts from the client; research, review and synthesize relevant case law, legislation and policies; draft thorough and clear legal advice.

As part of the team, you will provide legal and strategic advice for the life cycle of various capital projects to ensure they are built in a way that maximizes value for Albertans.

The responsibilities will include but will not be limited to: Identifying legal risks and providing conclusions or options to mitigate risk throughout the life cycle of significant client projects including legislation,



contract management and public procurement.

Managing disputes that arise during the contract management process.

Providing legal support to on legislative development.

Executing legislative policy, and operational advice under the Traffic Safety Act, the Real Property Governance Act and any other legislation for the client ministries.

Providing exceptional legal advice to the client ministries.

This position requires an extreme attention to detail, and you will be required to have: The ability to multi-task, prioritize and schedule assignments to meet deadlines.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

Significant commercial or capital project experience in the private or public realm.
