Position Overview Works in coordination with resident's, families, medical, professional and support staff to achieve quality resident care.

Major responsibilities are coordination of resident care, delivery and service to assigned shift.

This includes staff replacement, supervision of staff, quality management and education as assigned.

Demonstrates a commitment to the vision, values, goals and objectives of the home.

Experience Three (3) years current clinical experience in gerontology.

Two (2) years current management experience.

Combination of education and experience will be considered including recent student practicum.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing or Registered Psychiatric Nursing Education Program (BN is preferred).

Certificate in Gerontology an asset.

Certification/Licensure/Registration Current registration with College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Manitoba (CRPNM).

Valid CPR certificate.

Working knowledge of MDS.

Demonstrated ability to communicate in English; both orally and in writing.

Physical Requirements Must be adaptable.

Must be self-directed and have the ability to work in a rapidly changing internal and external environment.

May be required to work extended hours.

May encounter aggressive and/or agitated individuals.

Involves physical activities such as standing, transferring and transporting residents and equipment.

May encounter exposure to disease, radiation, toxic material, noise, allergens, blood, feces, body fluids, etc.

This Indefinite term may expire subject to twenty-four (24) hours of notice of the current incumbent returning to their position.
