Recruit4staff are representing an established steel fabrication and manufacturing business in their search for a CAD Technician to work in Widnes Job Details: Pay: £35,000 to £37,000 per annum Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am4:30 pm, with an earlier finish on Fridays Duration: Permanent Benefits: 33 days' holiday, company pension scheme and medical cover Job Role: As a CAD Technician , you will produce accurate 3D models and detailed fabrication drawings for structural steelwork projects.

Using Tekla Structures, the CAD Technician will import 2D CAD drawings and 3D designs, develop high-quality models, and ensure all drawings meet project specifications and industry standards.

Key duties include reviewing and revising drawings after design changes, conducting quality checks, and liaising with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to support project delivery.

Essential Skills and Experience:



Previous experience working as a CAD Technician or in a similar steelwork detailing role Proven experience using Tekla Structures to produce detailed 3D models Experience modelling steel components, structural steelwork, building structures and beams Ability to interpret technical drawings and produce accurate fabrication documentation Advantageous Experience or Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma or Certificate in Engineering Design BTEC Level 3 in a relevant engineering discipline HNC/HND in a related engineering discipline Previous experience as a CAD Technician within a steel fabrication or structural engineering setting Commutable From: Widnes, Runcorn, St Helens, Liverpool and Warrington Similar Job Titles: CAD Draughtsperson, CAD Draughtsman, Tekla Detailer, Tekla Draughtsperson and Steelwork Detailer This permanent CAD Technician opportunity offers the chance to work within an established steel fabrication business, producing detailed models and fabrication drawings for a variety of structural steelwork projects.
