Hiring: Communications Specialist - Intermediate / Senior

Location: Edmonton, AB
Pay Rate: CAD $50-$65/hr
Work Arrangement: Onsite - 5 Days a Week

Job Summary:

Seeking a Communications Specialist to develop organizational communications, executive messaging, presentations, training materials, and change communications. The role supports leadership communications, employee engagement, technology initiatives, and user training.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop communication plans, executive messages, newsletters, briefing notes, presentations, and visual materials.

- Create user guides, job aids, training documents, and virtual training resources.

- Translate complex business and technical information into explicit, audience-friendly content.

- Review and improve communications for clarity, consistency, and effectiveness.

- Collaborate with leadership, subject matter experts, and project teams.

- Support organizational change, employee engagement, and training initiatives.





- Incorporate feedback and maintain up-to-date communication and training materials.

Required Qualifications:

- Degree in Communications, Business, or a related field, or a relevant diploma with equivalent experience.

- 3+ years of experience in professional communications, business writing, presentations, and training material development.

- 2+ years of experience developing communication plans and working with senior leaders.

- Strong written, verbal, editing, and presentation skills.

- 5 years of experience creating user training materials, delivering virtual training, and managing multiple tasks with strict deadlines.

Nice to Have:

- Experience with change management, digital transformation, and technology communications.

- Experience with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite.

- Government or public-sector experience.
