Overview Job Skills / Requirements Position: Casual Security Guard Site: Various Sites in Niagara Region (Niagara Falls, Welland, Thorold, St.

Catharines, Fort Erie, etc.) Hours: Various Hours (Continental, Rotating shifts) Payrate: $18.35 (Varies from site to site) Position Description: As a casual guard, you will be required to work across multiple sites within the Niagara region, including healthcare sites.

Minimum requirement per month is 4 shifts.

Key responsibilities: Patient Watch and Observation: Provide continuous observation of patients identified as requiring supervision due to medical, behavioral, or safety concerns.

Maintain a safe environment, monitor patient activity, and promptly report any changes in behavior or condition to hospital staff.

Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.

Access Control: Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.

Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats.

Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff.

Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.

Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately.

Enforce Hospital Policies:



Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed.

Prerequisites: Valid Security License for the province of Ontario Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor) Covid Vaccine two doses Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test Valid G class Driver License with last 3 years of Clean Abstract as asset English (oral and written) fluency is a must Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
