Insurance Defence Associate – Downtown Toronto (Hybrid)

A leading Toronto law firm is seeking an Insurance Defence Associate with 2–4 years of experience to join its established insurance litigation team. The Role

As an Insurance Defence Lawyer, you will manage a broad litigation practice involving complex insurance claims from inception through resolution. You will work closely with experienced partners while maintaining meaningful responsibility over your own files.

Your practice will include:

- Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) claims
- Tort litigation
- Personal injury defence
- Property damage claims
- Coverage-related disputes
- Discoveries, mediations, motions, and trials

This position offers significant client contact, strategic file management, and regular courtroom advocacy.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

- 2–4 years of insurance defence litigation experience.
- Experience handling tort and MVA files.
- Ability to independently manage litigation matters.
- Strong drafting, advocacy, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational and client management abilities.
- Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
