The Director of Finance is a key member of the leadership team whose success will be measured through their ability to provide strong financial guidance, ensure operational discipline, and support long-term strategic decision-making.

This individual will play a critical role in aligning financial management with business goals while working closely with ownership and operational leaders.

Responsibilities will include: Financial Leadership & Stewardship: Serve as a trusted financial advisor to ownership and senior leadership Provide clear, practical financial insights to support long-term decision-making Help align day-to-day operations with the company's long-term vision and values Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting with clear explanations for non-financial stakeholders Analyze profitability across seed varieties, equipment lines, parts, and services Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Manage cash flow through highly seasonal sales cycles Oversee inventory financing, customer credit, and collections Maintain strong banking and lender relationships Accounting, Controls & Compliance:



Ensure accurate financial records and compliance with accounting standards Maintain solid internal controls while keeping systems practical and efficient Oversee audits, tax filings, regulatory reporting, and insurance coordination Inventory & Cost Management: Lead inventory and cost accounting for seed production and equipment Monitor obsolescence, write-offs, and margin performance Partner with operations and sales to improve inventory turns and profitability Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a dedicated finance team Establish scalable processes that support growth without unnecessary complexity Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement The ideal candidate will possess: CPA designation (CA, CMA, or equivalent preferred) 8+ years of progressive finance leadership experience Experience within seed, equipment, or distribution-based businesses is preferred Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and seasonal cash flow management Experience working with family-owned or closely held organizations is considered an asset Strong financial systems knowledge and proficiency Key attributes for success include: High integrity and respect for confidentiality.
