About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and creative Sports Event Planner to manage and execute a portfolio of sporting events in the Northern Cape , based in Kimberley . This role operates on a hybrid model, offering the flexibility to plan remotely while overseeing on-site execution. You will be responsible for all facets of event organization, from initial concept and budgeting to vendor management, marketing coordination, and post-event analysis. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in event planning, especially within the sports sector, and possesses exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills to ensure successful, engaging events for participants and spectators alike.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, coordinate, and execute various sports events , ensuring all logistical, operational, and technical requirements are met.
- Develop detailed event budgets, track expenses, and manage vendor contracts and relationships.
- Collaborate with marketing and communication teams to develop and implement event promotion strategies.
- Manage event registration processes, participant communication, and in office logistics.
- Oversee event setup, staffing,



and operational flow on the day of the event.
- Conduct post-event evaluations, gathering feedback and preparing comprehensive reports for stakeholders.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning , with a focus on sports events.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in event management software and standard office suites.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Adaptability to a hybrid work model, including willingness to travel and work non-traditional hours.
