Server – MAKAN Restaurant & Lounge

Job Summary

MAKAN Restaurant & Lounge, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant in London, Ontario, is looking for a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Server to join our team. We are committed to providing our guests with delicious food, warm hospitality, and a welcoming dining atmosphere.

As a Server, you will play an important role in creating an enjoyable dining experience by greeting guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring excellent customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is personable, reliable, and passionate about hospitality and Mediterranean cuisine.

Responsibilities

- Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive, and professional service throughout their dining experience.
- Present menus, explain menu items, and answer questions about Mediterranean dishes, ingredients, and beverages.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using the restaurant's POS system.
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining proper presentation and quality standards.
- Ensure guests are satisfied with their meals and respond professionally to requests or concerns.
- Process payments accurately, including cash, debit, and credit card transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, tables, and service stations.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations.




- Recommend menu items and promote specials to enhance the guest experience.
- Assist with opening, closing, and other restaurant duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience

- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is an asset but not required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Friendly, positive attitude with a strong focus on guest satisfaction.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Strong teamwork, time management, and organizational skills.
- Basic math skills and the ability to handle payments accurately.
- Willingness to learn about Mediterranean cuisine, menu offerings, and restaurant service standards.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Smart Serve certification is an asset if serving alcohol.
