Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator
Find the people who make great care happen.
Do you have an eye for talent, a passion for healthcare, and the organizational skills to keep a lot of moving pieces on track?
Are you the person who can walk into a challenging recruitment market and think, “Okay… how are we going to solve this?”
We’re looking for a Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator who is energetic, organized, creative, and genuinely passionate about finding great people. Someone with a PSW, healthcare, caregiving, or home care background would be a huge asset because you understand what makes a great CAREGiver, not just what looks good on a resume.
This role is responsible for building and maintaining a strong team of CAREGivers across some of our more challenging and remote areas, including Georgina, Keswick, Orillia, Muskoka, North Bay, Parry Sound, and surrounding communities.
This isn't your typical recruiting role. You’ll have to get creative, build relationships, think outside the box, and be willing to roll up your sleeves to find the right people.
What You'll Be Doing
Recruiting & Talent
- Develop creative recruitment strategies to attract quality CAREGivers in harder-to-recruit communities.
- Build and maintain a strong roster of available, reliable, and qualified CAREGivers across our territory.
- Identify great talent and recognize the qualities that make someone an exceptional CAREGiver.
- Respond to applicants in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable way.
- Schedule and conduct professional applicant interviews.
- Complete reference, criminal background, and motor vehicle checks in accordance with Home Instead standards.
- Maintain accurate recruitment metrics and employment records.
- Think beyond job boards, use community connections, social media, networking, referrals, and creative recruiting strategies to find great people.
Healthcare & CAREGiver Engagement
- Conduct weekly CAREGiver orientations and support ongoing training.
- Coordinate and maintain CAREGiver training records.
- Participate in CAREGiver retention and engagement initiatives.
- Coordinate CAREGiver recognition programs, including CAREGiver of the Month.
- Help create an environment where CAREGivers feel valued, supported, and connected to the team.
- Support scheduling and CAREGiver-to-client matching when needed.
Organization & Compliance
- Maintain accurate employee files, availability, and required employment documentation.
- Follow all Home Instead Franchise Standards and our Quality Management System.
- Support compliance with provincial and federal employment, health, and safety requirements.
- Facilitate and manage the Joint Health & Safety Committee and required Ministry of Labour regulations.
- Assist with office administration, phone coverage, team meetings, and other operational needs.
- Work closely with the General Manager and support the team wherever needed.
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has an eye for talent and can quickly recognize a great CAREGiver.
- Has experience in healthcare, home care, recruiting, or human resources, a PSW background is a strong asset.
- Is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Is a strong communicator who enjoys building relationships.
- Is creative and willing to try new approaches to recruitment.
- Enjoys a challenge and doesn't get discouraged when things get difficult.
- Is comfortable working independently while being a strong team player.
- Can build trust with applicants, CAREGivers, clients, and community partners.
- Is comfortable using technology, social media, and recruitment systems.
- Has a valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
The Challenge
This role supports some of our hardest-to-recruit communities, so this isn't a position where you can simply post a job and wait for applications.
We need someone who will own the challenge.
Someone who will ask:
Where are the CAREGivers? Who do we need to connect with? What haven't we tried yet? How can we make someone want to join our team?
If you're someone who loves solving problems, finding great people, and building something from the ground up, this could be a really exciting prospect for you.
Our Promise
We will deliver, without exception, on every commitment we make to you and your loved ones. To us, it's personal.
Our Guiding Principles are at the heart of how we work:
Build Trust. Take the Lead. Share Your Heart.
