Waypoints is a not for profit, community-based organization that helps children, youth, and families build brighter futures. We are seeking participants between the ages of 18-30 who are currently not attending school. Our Employment Services and Outreach program focuses on helping youth develop the skills and confidence they need to find and keep meaningful employment.

About the Program:

The Test Drive Program provides free employability skills training to young people and helps them find a job. Career Specialists work with youth participants to create employment goals, identify strengths and challenges, build employment portfolios, and develop the essential skills to succeed in the workplace. This may include training such as:

- Creating a Resume
- Emergency First Aid Training
- WHMIS Certification
- OH&S; training
- Job Search Strategies
- Interview Preparation




- Respectful Workplace Training
- Communication skills

Career Specialists connect participants with local employers and can provide an employer with wage subsidies. Career Specialists provide ongoing support to participants even after they are employed. In some cases, Career Specialists may also work with participants to develop a Return to School Action Plan.

- Ready to work with a Career Specialist
- Ready to explore employment and/or a return to school plan
- Ready to build your employability skills
- Ready to work collaboratively with an employer
- Ready to think about next steps

Pay: From $16.35 per hour
