We're a busy family of five (plus a cat) in Burlington, looking for a reliable, organized, calm person to help our weekday afternoons run smoothly.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 2–6 pm (Tuesdays until 7 pm), about 17 hours/week, plus one Friday or Saturday evening per month, 4–9 pm
Pay: $30/hour
What you'll do
· Pick up our kindergartener from school/after-school care
· Prompt the kids on after-school tasks
· Prepare a family dinner, served at 5 pm
· Clean up after dinner: dishes, wipe down, reset the kitchen
· Tidy the kitchen and vacuum main areas
· Fold and put away laundry
· Help with household organization
· Occasional errands: grocery pickups, donation drop-offs
· Monthly evening (Friday or Saturday, 4–9 pm): make dinner and clean up, do laundry, and handle our kindergartener's bedtime routine
Tasks rotate through the week, and errands or organizing projects replace regular chores on those days.
You have
· Experience with childcare, household management, or a similar role
· Confidence cooking straightforward, healthy family meals
· A valid G licence and your own reliable vehicle (mileage paid). You'll need to provide a copy of your clean driver's abstract.
· A clear Vulnerable Sector Check, or willingness to get one
· Standard First Aid with CPR Level C, or willingness to complete it before starting (we'll reimburse the course fee)
· 2+ references
· A calm, proactive style: you see what needs doing and do it
· Bonus: An interest in home organization: you enjoy creating systems that keep a busy household running smoothly
