Safety Net Security (SNS) is currently seeking dependable and professional Casual / On-Call Security Guards to support our security operations throughout the Kelowna, West Kelowna, and Lake Country areas.

This role is ideal for someone looking for flexible security work, additional hours, or an opportunity to gain experience across a variety of sites.

Casual guards play an important role in helping us maintain consistent site coverage when regular guards are away, additional staffing is required, or special assignments arise.

Because this is an on-call position, flexibility, reliability, and the ability to accept shifts on short notice are extremely important.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide security coverage at various SNS client sites as assigned
- Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols
- Monitor properties for suspicious activity, disturbances, safety concerns, or unauthorized access
- Maintain a visible and professional security presence
- Respond appropriately to incidents, complaints, alarms, and emergencies
- Enforce client and site-specific rules professionally and respectfully
- Use verbal de-escalation techniques when dealing with challenging situations
- Complete accurate Daily Activity Reports and incident reports
- Follow all site-specific post orders and SNS policies
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors, dispatch,



and SNS management
- Maintain accountability for keys, radios, phones, vehicles, and other assigned equipment
- Provide professional customer service when interacting with clients, residents, guests, staff, contractors, and members of the public

Required Qualifications

- Valid BC Security Worker Licence / BST – required
- Valid Driver's Licence – required
- Reliable transportation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use a smartphone or tablet for reporting and communication
- Ability to work independently and follow site-specific instructions
- Professional appearance and demeanor

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous security experience
- First Aid certification
- Experience with mobile patrol, residential, commercial, construction, resort, hospitality,



or event security
- Open availability
- Ability to accept shifts on short notice

Position Details

This is a casual, on-call position and hours are not guaranteed.

Shifts may become available due to:

- Vacation coverage
- Sick calls
- Leave coverage
- Increased client requirements
- Special events
- Temporary assignments
- Additional site coverage

This role can be an excellent opportunity for guards seeking supplemental income or individuals interested in gaining experience with Safety Net Security and potentially moving into regular full-time or part-time positions as opportunities become available.
