We are on the hunt for an experienced Residential Painter to join our team on a full time basis. This is a new in-house role for us, and an exciting opportunity to help shape how painting is done across our projects.

What We’re Looking For

We require an individual who has a proven track record in residential painting and takes pride in clean, crisp, professional finishes.

This role works independently, so we’re looking for someone who can manage their own day, keep their work area organized, and represent Melanson Homes professionally in our clients’ homes. If you are interested in working at project sites throughout Calgary and surrounding areas, are detail-oriented, and pride yourself on your workmanship and providing outstanding customer service, please apply!

Key Responsibilities - Include, but not limited to:

- Plan and complete interior painting tasks from start to finish, working independently on site.
- Prepare surfaces for paint, including filling nail holes, patching minor drywall damage, sanding, caulking, and priming.
- Protect floors, fixtures, cabinetry, and finished surfaces by masking and covering before work begins.
- Paint walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and casings using brush and roller methods.
- Cut in clean lines and deliver consistent, high-quality finishes.




- Complete touch-ups and deficiency items before project handover.
- Work respectfully and professionally in occupied client homes.
- Communicate progress, material needs, and any issues to the project manager.
- Maintain site cleanliness, including cleanup of tools, materials, and work areas at the end of each day.
- Properly store, handle, and dispose of paint and related materials.
- Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to transporting materials to project sites.

Required Skills and Experience

- 5+ years of experience in residential painting.
- Journeyperson Painter and Decorator or Red Seal Candidates prioritized.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation and paint products, including sheens and primers.
- Excellent attention to detail and a steady hand for cutting in.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and professional.
- Able to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Must speak fluent English.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean Abstract.
- Comfortable working on ladders and at heights.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Spray experience is an asset but not required.

Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
