Overview
Windley Contracting Ltd. is seeking a Shop Support Specialist to support our busy construction and civil works company shop in Nanaimo, BC.

Job description:

This is an entry level position. The successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively with other members of the service team as well as work independently as required. You will provide support services and assistance to supervisors, mechanics, and welders in the company’s repair facility. Shop and site cleanup, shipping and receiving of parts, small tools and equipment. You will also pressure wash trucks and equipment. Complete all necessary paperwork. Any and all other duties as required by the shop supervisor.

Requirements:

- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with clean abstract and able to drive a standard transmission.
- Valid forklift operator’s certificate.
- Familiar with the operation of heavy equipment
- Must have excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral.
- Follow all safety practices and guidelines and participate in weekly safety meetings.
- Level 1 First Aid certificate.

Working Conditions

- Shop- and yard-based with exposure to equipment, weather, noise, and physically demanding tasks.

This role may progress to mechanic apprentice roles, shop support leadership,



other field operational positions based on performance and development.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
