Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients while supporting veterinarians in their daily tasks. This position requires a blend of technical skills, empathy, and a commitment to animal welfare.

Duties

- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, to aid in diagnosis.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals before, during, and after procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment, including equipment sterilization.
- Handle animals safely and compassionately to minimize stress during visits.

Qualifications





- A degree or certification in veterinary technology from an accredited program is preferred.
- Previous experience as a veterinary technician or in a similar role is advantageous.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to perform diagnostic tests is essential.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their care and well-being.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

- Nanaimo, BC V9V 1K8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

- Veterinary Technician: 1 year (preferred)
