THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Director of Human Resources & Operations to oversee our workforce, field scheduling and routing, quality control, training, company culture and key client relationships. This is not a desk-only HR position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, performance management, employee relations and disciplinary processes.
- Coordinate uniforms, PPE, employee equipment, training certifications, records and safety orientations.
- Maintain employee morale, retention, positive company culture, core values and high professional standards.
- Develop and deliver PowerPoint training presentations to groups of employees covering company systems, safety, operations and customer service.
- Lead staff meetings, safety training, orientations and coaching of crew leaders and supervisors.
- Coordinate daily/weekly routing, schedules, staffing, equipment and resources across multiple landscape and snow crews.
- Respond to weather, staffing and client changes, track job progress and improve operational systems.
- Serve as primary client contact for assigned municipal, institutional and commercial contracts, including major accounts.
- Handle client inquiries, complaints,



site meetings, scheduling updates and contract service requirements.
- Conduct site inspections, oversee quality control, correct deficiencies and maintain accurate service records.
- Uphold Ontario employment and workplace health and safety requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years in operations, HR/workforce management or related leadership roles.
- Experience supervising multiple teams and managing daily operational priorities.
- Strong communication, employee coaching, conflict resolution and customer service skills.
- Confident public speaker who can develop and deliver professional PowerPoint presentations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
- Organized, proactive, comfortable with technology and willing to visit job sites.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence.
- Preferred: landscaping, snow removal, construction, facilities/property services or similar field-service experience; municipal/commercial contract management; crew routing and scheduling systems; Ontario employment and safety regulations.
