About North Bright

North Bright Inc. is a growing commercial cleaning and fire protection company serving commercial, industrial and institutional clients throughout Northwestern Ontario.

We are expanding our fire protection services and seeking an experienced, certified technician who can independently perform fire alarm inspections and servicing, commercial kitchen fire suppression maintenance, and portable fire extinguisher servicing.

Key Responsibilities

Fire Alarm Systems

- Inspect, test, troubleshoot and service commercial fire alarm systems.
- Perform annual fire alarm inspections and verification testing within applicable qualifications and authorization.
- Diagnose and repair fire alarm system deficiencies.
- Inspect and test smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations, notification appliances and related equipment.
- Test emergency lighting and exit signs.
- Complete inspection reports and documentation in accordance with applicable codes and standards, including CAN/ULC-S536 and CAN/ULC-S537.

Fire Suppression Systems

- Inspect, test, maintain and service commercial kitchen fire suppression systems.
- Troubleshoot deficiencies and perform repairs or component replacements.
- Service Protex, ANSUL, Amerex or other systems for which the technician holds appropriate qualifications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable manufacturer requirements and NFPA standards.

Portable Fire Extinguishers

- Inspect, service, recharge and maintain portable fire extinguishers.
- Perform six-year maintenance and hydrostatic testing where applicable and appropriately qualified.
- Identify deficiencies and recommend replacement or corrective action.
- Maintain accurate inspection and certification records.

Additional Responsibilities

- Provide technical recommendations and communicate directly with customers.




- Maintain service records and manage scheduled inspections.
- Travel throughout Northwestern Ontario, including remote communities.
- Assist with related commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning services when required.

Required Qualifications

- Current CFAA Fire Alarm Technician registration in good standing, or an equivalent qualification accepted for the applicable work in Ontario.
- Demonstrated experience independently inspecting, testing and troubleshooting commercial fire alarm systems.
- Experience servicing portable fire extinguishers.
- Manufacturer certification or authorization for commercial kitchen fire suppression systems.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario Fire Code requirements, CAN/ULC standards and applicable NFPA standards.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Strong troubleshooting, mechanical and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with multiple fire alarm manufacturers and control panels.
- Experience with Protex, ANSUL, Amerex or Range Guard kitchen suppression systems.
- Fire extinguisher recharging and hydrostatic testing experience.
- Emergency lighting and exit sign testing experience.
- Experience working in industrial facilities and remote communities.
