We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client’s team in Arnprior, Ontario on a Contract basis . This opportunity is well suited to an accounting specialist who can manage the full accounts payable cycle in a high-volume environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate vendor payments, resolving invoice discrepancies, and supporting financial controls through consistent and organized processing.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the complete accounts payable process, from invoice receipt and review through to payment preparation and final posting.
- Examine complex invoices for accuracy, assign appropriate account codes, and ensure supporting documentation is complete.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions and investigate variances to maintain accurate financial records across entities.
- Confirm vendor payment details, respond to payment-related inquiries, and help resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Process electronic payments and cheque runs while ensuring adherence to internal approval requirements and payment schedules.
- Use accounting and ERP systems, including Meditech and Concur, to record transactions and maintain up-to-date accounts payable information.
- Assist with audit requests by gathering documentation, explaining payment records, and supporting the review of accounts payable activity.
- Collaborate with finance and operational teams to improve invoice handling, coding accuracy, and overall payment efficiency.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a full-cycle accounts payable role.
- Demonstrated ability to process high-volume and complex invoices with strong attention to detail.
- Experience reconciling intercompany invoices and resolving discrepancies accurately.




- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP platforms; experience with Meditech, Concur, or ADP is considered an asset.
- Robust understanding of account coding, vendor management, and payment processing procedures.
- Experience preparing cheque and electronic payment batches in a controlled financial environment.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to support auditors and work effectively with internal stakeholders.
