Cora Breakfast and Lunch in Peterborough is looking for a dependable, enthusiastic, and experienced Breakfast Cook to join our kitchen team.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about cooking, takes pride in preparing delicious, high-quality meals, and enjoys working in a busy, team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate is an early riser who can prepare a variety of hot breakfast dishes efficiently while maintaining excellent food quality, cleanliness, and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook breakfast dishes according to Cora's menu, recipes, and quality standards.
- Prepare made-to-order eggs, omelets, and other hot breakfast items during busy service periods.
- Ensure food is consistently fresh, properly cooked, attractively presented, and served according to restaurant specifications.
- Accommodate special dietary requirements and food allergies by following appropriate preparation procedures.
- Follow all applicable food safety regulations and safe food-handling practices.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and ensure equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, including workstations, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Work efficiently with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food preparation.
- Manage responsibilities independently with minimal supervision.
- Follow cleaning schedules and maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene throughout each shift.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Previous experience as a breakfast cook or line cook is preferred.




- Experience preparing hot breakfast meals for a high volume of customers is an asset.
- Experience with made-to-order eggs, omelets, and breakfast station operations is preferred.
- Valid Food Handler Certification is required.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to food quality and customer satisfaction.
- Reliable, punctual, hardworking, and able to work early morning shifts.
- A positive attitude and willingness to support other team members when needed.
- French language skills are not required.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

- Climb stairs or ladders when necessary.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stand for extended periods and squat, kneel, or sit as required.
- Perform repetitive tasks requiring full use of both hands.
- Reach with arms fully extended and work with arms above shoulder height.
