Lighthouse Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned small-animal veterinary clinic located between Qualicum Beach and Courtenay, BC. Our location offers the best of coastal, small-town life while still being an easy drive from city amenities.

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our supportive team. You will work alongside another experienced RVT, two assistants, and two receptionists.

What You’ll Be Doing:

- Administering and monitoring anesthesia independently
- Performing dental procedures and dental radiography
- Conducting general radiography and positioning patients
- Providing nursing care before, during and after procedures
- Using in-house laboratory equipment
- Troubleshooting equipment and communicating with manufacturers or company representatives as needed
- Educating clients about nutrition, diet, training and at-home care
- Maintaining accurate medical records and communicating effectively with the veterinary team





Familiarity with AVImark software and Abaxis in-house laboratory equipment would be an asset.

Hours, Flexibility, Compensation & Benefits

Schedule: Normally 4–5 days per week, with regular clinic hours of 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Staff work together to arrange lunch breaks around the needs of the team and our patients.

Family-friendly flexibility: We know that childcare and family responsibilities don’t always fit neatly into an 8-to-5 schedule. We are happy to offer some flexibility with earlier or later start and finish times to accommodate childcare responsibilities, and we’ll work with the right person to find a schedule that works for both their family and the clinic.

Wage: $28–$35 per hour, depending on experience.
