Solution Services is looking for a dependable, safety-focused Hot Oiler Assistant to join our Specialized Fluids team in Grande Prairie.

This is a hands-on oilfield position working directly alongside an experienced Hot Oiler Operator. You will assist with the setup, operation and teardown of hot oiler and fluid-heating equipment used on completion projects, workovers, well abandonments, facility maintenance and turnaround work.

This is not a general labour position. You will be working around specialized fluid-heating and pumping equipment, hoses, fittings, hot fluids and active oil and gas operations. We are looking for someone who is comfortable in the field, understands oilfield safety and wants to develop their experience in specialized fluid operations.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Hot Oiler Assistant, you will work directly with the Hot Oiler Operator to safely and efficiently complete field operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting with the setup and teardown of hot oiler and fluid-heating equipment
- Rigging in and rigging out hoses, lines, fittings and associated equipment
- Supporting fluid heating, circulating and pumping operations under the direction of the Hot Oiler Operator
- Participating in pre-trip inspections, equipment inspections and pre-job hazard assessments
- Monitoring hoses, connections, equipment and the surrounding work area during operations
- Assisting with positioning, handling and securing hoses and field equipment
- Ensuring hoses, tools, fittings and required equipment are properly stocked and ready for each job
- Completing proper load securement of hoses, chemical containers, tools and other equipment
- Helping maintain the hot oiler unit, equipment and work area in clean and job-ready condition
- Identifying and immediately reporting unsafe conditions, equipment damage, incidents and near misses
- Wearing and maintaining all required PPE
- Participating in toolbox meetings, field-level hazard assessments and client safety programs
- Completing required paperwork for dispatch, administration and the Safety Department
- Following Solution Services Standard Work Procedures, Health and Safety requirements and client-specific procedures




- Supporting other Specialized Fluids operations when required

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have:

- Valid Class 5 driver's licence or higher
- Acceptable driver's abstract with fewer than three infractions
- Minimum one year of directly related oilfield or industrial field-service experience
- Valid Standard First Aid
- Valid H2S Alive
- Valid Confined Space Entry / Monitor certification
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Working knowledge of oilfield operations and field safety requirements
- Strong communication skills and the ability to take direction
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively as part of a two-person truck crew and larger field team

Experience That Will Set You Apart

Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience involving:

- Hot oiler operations
- Fluid heating
- Pressure trucks or pressure pumping
- Service rigs or well servicing
- Fluid handling and pumping
- Oilfield completions or workovers
- Shutdowns and turnarounds
- Specialized oilfield service equipment

A Class 1 or Class 3 driver's license and additional industry safety certifications are considered strong assets.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This is a field-based position working at oil and gas facilities, well sites and project locations throughout the region.

Candidates must be comfortable with:

- Physically demanding field work
- Lifting and handling equipment weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Handling industrial hoses, fittings and tools
- Walking and working on uneven terrain
- Working outdoors in changing Alberta weather conditions
- Working around hot fluids, pumping equipment and industrial operations
- Wearing steel-toed boots, coveralls, safety glasses, hard hats, hearing protection and other required PPE
- Travelling to project sites and other branch locations when required

This is a full-time hourly field position.





Hours will vary according to project and client requirements and may include:

- Day shifts
- Night shifts
- Extended shifts
- Overtime
- Weekends
- On-call work
- Short-notice field mobilizations
- Out-of-town work when required

Candidates must be comfortable working an oilfield schedule where operational requirements can change.
