Lead Carpenter / Site Foreman

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts; overtime may be available

Location: In person at job sites across the GTA

Your Design Build Inc. is looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter / Site Foreman to help deliver residential renovations, repairs, additions, laneway suites, commercial work, landscaping and other construction projects across the GTA.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll work on the tools while coordinating the day-to-day work on site, guiding employees and trades, and keeping projects organized, safe and moving forward.

What you’ll do:

Perform rough and finish carpentry, and other hands-on construction work as needed.

Organize daily site activities and help keep work on schedule.

Coordinate employees, subcontractors and deliveries on site.

Review plans, identify potential issues and help solve problems before they delay the work.

Maintain quality standards and ensure work follows the plans, scope and applicable safety requirements.

Keep the site clean, orderly and safe.

Track materials, tools, progress and site requirements; communicate needs promptly.

Provide clear updates to the project team and communicate professionally with clients when required.

Lead by example and support a respectful, productive crew.

You might be a positive fit if you have:





At least 10 years of carpentry or construction experience, including experience leading a crew or running a site.

Strong rough and finish carpentry skills and the ability to work independently on the tools.

Good working knowledge of construction sequencing, plans and job-site coordination.

The ability to manage competing priorities, trades and employees while maintaining attention to detail.

A practical, calm approach to troubleshooting and changing site conditions.

A valid Ontario driver’s licence. Access to a vehicle is preferred; the ability to transport tools, materials and occasionally employees is an asset.

Your own basic hand tools.

A professional, dependable attitude, a sense of humour and pride in your work.

Construction safety training and other relevant certifications are an asset.
