We’re looking for an experienced long-term care HCA to join a care centre team in Sechelt, on BC’s beautiful Sunshine Coast. And because we know moving for work is a big step, we provide accommodation or an accommodation subsidy.

To qualify, you must have both:

- Active registration with the BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry
- A minimum of 2 years of HCA experience in long-term care

What your days look like

- Helping residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting, always with dignity
- Supporting safe mobility, transfers and positioning to prevent falls
- Assisting at mealtimes and making sure each resident gets the nutrition they need
- Bringing comfort, conversation and meaningful activities into residents’ days
- Caring for residents living with dementia with patience and understanding
- Noticing changes in a resident’s health or mood and reporting them to the nurse right away
- Keeping residents’ rooms and shared spaces safe, clean and welcoming

What you bring

- Active BC Care Aide Registry registration (required)
- Minimum 2 years of HCA experience in long-term care (required)
- Health Care Aide certificate
- Current CPR/BLS
- Criminal record check (vulnerable sector)
- WHMIS and FoodSafe
- Up-to-date immunization record and TB test
- RAI/MDS certificate is an asset
- Availability for rotating shifts: days, evenings, nights and weekends
- A warm heart and a team-first attitude

- This is an independent contractor position through Correct Staffing.
