The role. We are seeking an experienced, technically grounded, site-based Construction Supervisor to drive brownfield capital projects ($500K to $5M) from planning through commissioning at our Northern Alberta pulp mill. Leverage a strong technical acumen working with Project Managers to develop scopes of work, facilitate constructionability and project execution reviews and supervise site construction activities to ensure efficient project delivery through construction and commissioning.
- Champion Mercer’s Vision and Values in all interactions, providing effective leadership and oversight for all Capital construction projects leveraging MPR's Mission Zero Safety Standards and ensuring contractors rigorous adherence to site safety protocols.
- Provide daily on-site supervision for contractors, acting as the primary point of contact for field activities while coordinating with Project Managers and site stakeholders for technical, schedule, and cost control oversight.
- Uphold and implement key organizational processes, including Management of Change (MOC), Integrity Management System (IMS), and Annual Capital Plan reporting.
- Proactively review and refine project schedules in partnership with Project Managers and stakeholders, ensuring resource alignment, realistic timelines, and effective progress tracking while identifying early warning indicators for schedule slippage or budget variances and executing effective recovery plans.
- Govern and optimize project budget performance, ensuring rigorous cost tracking and proactive management of expenditures.

- Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Must possess one of the following; Dual trade Journeyperson certification in associated trade, or Mechanical/Civil Engineering degree or Engineering Technologist or Construction Technologist Diploma
