Your role

Reporting to the Store Manager, you’ll lead the daily operation of the Deli Department. You’ll balance food production, team development and customer service while keeping displays inviting, products fresh and the department running smoothly.

This is an active role for someone who enjoys working alongside their team, takes pride in the details and can keep things organized during a busy shift.

What you’ll do

- Lead and support your team: Coach employees and supervisors, train new staff and help everyone build their skills and confidence.
- Create food customers love: Prepare and oversee deli products using company recipes and quality standards.
- Make the department inviting: Keep displays fresh, full and well presented, with friendly service at the counter.
- Plan for a successful day: Build staff schedules, coordinate production and manage labour effectively.
- Manage stock and reduce waste: Order and receive products,



monitor inventory and complete accurate inventory counts and records.
- Maintain high standards: Keep workspaces clean and organized and follow food safety, health and safety, and company procedures.
- Support the wider store: Collaborate with other departments and act as a keyholder, opening and closing the store as required.

What you’ll bring

- Leadership experience in a deli, food service, grocery or retail environment
- Experience coaching, training and developing employees
- A passion for quality food and welcoming customer service
- Strong organization, communication and problem-solving skills
- The ability to prioritize and keep your team moving during busy periods
- A valid Food Safe Certificate, or willingness to obtain one
- An appreciation for local food, local businesses and community

Availability

This position averages 40 hours per week. You must be available for:

- At least one weekend day each week
- At least one evening shift each week
- A variety of shifts, including opening and closing, to meet the needs of the store

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
