JM Jobes Funeral Home is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and professional individual to join our team as a Funeral Director or Funeral Director’s Assistant.

We are open to welcoming an experienced, licensed Funeral Director or an individual who is interested in entering the funeral service profession and is willing to learn. The right person will be someone who treats families with dignity and respect and understands the importance of providing compassionate care during difficult times.

Responsibilities

Depending on experience and qualifications, responsibilities may include:

- Assisting families with funeral and memorial service arrangements.
- Providing compassionate and professional support to families.
- Assisting with the preparation and coordination of visitations and funeral services.
- Assisting with the respectful care and transfer of the deceased.
- Preparing the funeral home, chapel, vehicles, and equipment for services.
- Assisting with dressing and casketing when required.
- Driving funeral vehicles and assisting with funeral processions.
- Assisting with paperwork, documentation, and general administrative duties.
- Answering phones and assisting families and members of the community.
- Working with clergy, cemeteries, crematories, florists, and other service providers.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and respectful funeral home environment.
- Participating in evening, weekend, and on-call duties as required.
- Other duties associated with the day-to-day operation of the funeral home.

- Comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
- Physically capable of assisting with transfers and other duties associated with funeral service.
- In possession of a valid driver's licence.

Previous funeral service experience is an asset, but not required. We are willing to train the right individual who has the compassion, maturity, work ethic, and willingness to learn required for this important role.

A licensed Funeral Director is also encouraged to apply.

Compensation

Pay will be based on experience, qualifications, and responsibilities.

Both part-time and full-time opportunities are available.
