Duties

- Perform purity, germination, vigour, herbicide tolerance, and other specialized seed tests following AOSA, CFIA, ISTA, and company protocols..
- Collect and record precise data during laboratory procedures, maintaining accurate logs for traceability and reporting purposes.
- Analyze test results using mathematical calculations to determine seed quality metrics such as purity percentage and germination rate.




- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment regularly to ensure accuracy and reliability of test outcomes.
- Follow established protocols and safety procedures diligently during all testing processes.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to review results, identify issues, and recommend improvements for seed processing.
- Respond to client inquiries, clearly explain testing procedures and results, provide technical support, and communicate new or specialized testing requests to the Supervisor and Manager.

Skills & Knowledge

- Strong understanding of quality control principles within a laboratory setting.
- Proficient in data collection, analysis, and interpretation of scientific results.
- Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail for precise identification of seed contaminants and germination assessment.
- Solid math skills for calculating percentages, averages, and statistical data relevant to seed testing.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining high standards of precision.
- Good communication skills for documenting findings clearly and working effectively within a team environment.

Educational Requirements:

- Fully Qualified Germination and Purity Analyst under CFIA
- SICA, Grader and ISTA experience an asset
- Post-secondary degree in Agricultural Sciences, related diploma, or equivalent

Pay: $60,000.00-$77,500.00 per year
