Canadian Training Institute is a certified training institution based in Bay Roberts, Newfoundland. We deliver hands-on training in Heavy Equipment Operation, Commercial Driving, and Tandem Truck operation.

We are currently looking for an experienced Class 1 and/or Class 3 driver to join our team as a Driver Trainer.

This position is ideal for someone with strong industry experience who is looking to step away from long-haul driving and into a more stable, local role.

This is a hands on training position only. No classroom instruction required.
Full-time and part time, and seasonal opportunities are available based on the needs of the applicant.

What you’ll do:

- Train students in the safe operation of tractor trailers (Class 1) and/or tandem trucks (Class 3)
- Teach pre- and post-trip inspections, backing, coupling,



and defensive driving
- Support students in developing real-world driving skills, including shifting and gear control (standard transmission and/or automatic)
- Complete student evaluations and basic documentation such as log books and pre/post trip inspections

Requirements:

- Minimum 1 years verifiable experience operating Class 1 and/or Class 3 vehicles
- Valid Class 1 or Class 3 licence with Air Brakes (9)
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Comfortable operating standard transmission and demonstrating double clutching, or willingness or ability to be re-trained in these skills
