- Track project schedules, punch lists, and open action items during installation and commissioning, escalating risks to the responsible Press and Automation Manufacturing Engineer and project leadership
- Capture, document, and organize lessons learned from FAT, installation,
and commissioning activities for use on future press and automation projects
- Partner with Press and Automation Manufacturing Engineers to translate design intent and technical requirements into in office execution plans
- Support troubleshooting of equipment, machinery, and automation systems issues identified during FAT, installation, or commissioning
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date technical and project documentation, including installation records, FAT reports, and commissioning checklists
- Support training for production and plant personnel on the operation and maintenance of newly installed press and automation systems
- Assist with coordination of design and construction activities to keep projects aligned with production schedules, budget, and quality requirements
- Work alongside OEM, Installer and engineering to resolve installation, commissioning, or production issues.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, project engineering, or field support, preferably with press and automation systems in stamping
- Willingness and ability to travel to supplier build shops and plant sites approximately 50-75% of the time, including extended stays during installation, commissioning, and FAT events
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Understanding of engineering theory, manufacturing methods, and equipment operation principles
- Experience coordinating design, construction, installation, or commissioning activities, preferably in automotive manufacturing facilities
- Experience managing or supporting projects with changing production schedules, budget constraints, and multiple stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools, including MS Project
- Experience using CAD and engineering systems such as AutoCAD, Unigraphics, SOLIDWORKS, Teamcenter, or Teamcenter Visualization
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and share technical findings and lessons learned
