Introduction

Absorb Plumbing & Heating is growing and we are adding to our team with the addition of another plumbing and/or gasfitter journey-person. We’re a company that focuses primarily in Residential and light Commercial plumbing and heating services. We offer competitive wages, benefits, a work van and power tools. We don't offer 24/7 emergency services, so our employees are never on call. However, some days run over 8 hours when the job demands it, and occasional weekend work may be required, with options for overtime or banked hours. We mostly work in and around Prince George, with fairly rare out-of-town work.

Responsibilities

- Be able to think critically and troubleshoot issues without supervision

Requirements

- A valid class 5 driver's license
- Willing to undergo a criminal record check
- Minimum of 4 years experience (robust understanding of drainage and waterline installation/service and plumbing codes)




- Read and understand various mechanical drawings and blueprints
- Drainage installation, familiarity with common piping materials and joining methods (ABS, Sys15, XFR, cast iron mechanical joints, glued joints etc.)
- Waterline installation, familiarity with common piping materials and joining methods (PEX-A, PEX-B, copper solder joints etc.)
- Fixture installation (tubs, toilets, sinks, faucets etc.)

Additional Skills (Increased rate of pay)

- Basic to complete understanding of natural gas and propane codes and piping practices (higher understanding and ticket(s) will result in a higher wage)
- Natural gas and propane piping installation, familiarity with common piping materials and joining methods (black iron threaded joints, CSST etc.)
- Installation and service of various gas appliances (boilers, furnaces, water heaters etc.) Available to work 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend overtime

Pay: $44.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 50.0 per week
